Sellwood Middle School, Quarterly 3D Printing Program

$229.00

Location: Sellwood Middle School (SE Portland)

One program level for Winter Quarter (Jan - March 2026):

  • Beginner Level I: Thursdays, January 29 - March 19, from 4:15-5:45 pm (on days when school is in session)
Discover the basics of 3D design and printing while creating fun, personalized projects. Great for students with no experience in 3D.

All materials and light snack provided.

About Our Workshops:

Our curriculum encompasses a variety of projects that gradually guides student’s learning from understanding foundational skills to mastering techniques in 3D design software and printing.

In all of our classes, we often work through developing skills parallel to school subjects, like measurements and math, art and creativity, proportions, teamwork and collaboration, real-world applications, self-confidence, and more.

During our free workshops, we guide students through creating a personalized project that focuses on introducing the basic fundamentals of 3D design and design tools in Tinkercad, a 3D modeling software that is user-friendly for students.

During our multi-week workshop program, students will enhance their skills by learning how to build a new, slightly more complex object each week, gradually progressing in their design and engineering skills over time. Examples of more complex projects: Miniature Standard Item; Abstract Sculptures; Tiny Tool Design; Invent a Creature/Buddy; Story Cubes (Objects That Tell a Story); Functional Object; Collaboration Day: Build a Tiny World Together; and more!

After every class, students will walk away with the understanding that 3D design is not only fun, but that it’s applicable to daily life and successful futures in STEM careers.
