7-Week
3d printing
program
Exploration, play, and building confidence
Our curriculum encompasses a variety of projects that gradually guides student’s learning from understanding foundational skills to mastering techniques in 3D design software and printing.
In all of our workshop classes, we use the Tinkercad software platform to teach students how to think and navigate within a three-dimensional space. Tinkercad is approachable and user-friendly, providing familiar tools for building objects in a realistic workplane.
At our free workshops, we guide students through creating their own personalized Maker Coin, a fun and familiar object known within the 3D community as a maker’s “business card”.
During our 7-week program, students will enhance their skills by learning how to build a new object each week, gradually progressing their design and engineering skills over time. Each week students will walkaway with the understanding that 3D is not only fun, but that it’s applicable to daily life and a successful futures in STEM careers.

Students will create customized wearable art, in the form of a charm or pendant with a loop that can be worn as a necklace or as a bag-tag.
Takeaways:
-
Students will select a standard everyday life item to replicate using the software’s tools to focus on measurement, scale, and proportion. And yes, they will also be working on their math skills during this one. :)
Takeaways: Understanding dimensionality and scale using real-life objects; mathematics through precise measurement.
